ICD-9-CM and CPT-4 coding systems
Qualifications
PREFERRED CERTIFICATION: CCA and/or CCS.
REQUIRED EDUCATION: High School Diploma/GED or Tech in Coding.
PREFERRED EDUCATION: Associate's in Health Information Technology.
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE: None with Coding Tech Training or One year coding w/High School Diploma.
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE: Two years third party and/or three years encoding.
REQUIRED LICENSURE: Florida Drivers License.
PREFERRED LICENSURE: RHIT.
REQUIRED SPECIFIC
SKILLS: Written and verbal communication skills, Customer service
skills, Critical thinking, Computer skill appropriate to position
Medical terminology use and understanding,
Organizational skills and Knowledge of regulatory requirements
appropriate for position.
